Authorities have named and released an image of the British tourist who died after travelling to Turkey for cosmetic procedures.
Mentor Rama, 36, was formally identified on Thursday as the man who collapsed just hours after undergoing a hair transplant and dental treatment in Istanbul.
According to Turkish media, the 36-year-old arrived last week for a hair transplant at a clinic in the city’s Fulya district.
Mr Rama checked into a hotel near the city’s bustling Sisli area and visited another clinic in the Vadi Istanbul complex for dental treatment the following day.

After the procedure, Mr Rama returned to his accommodation, where he was suddenly taken ill, leaving hotel workers to call emergency services, according to Istanbul Today.
He was quickly taken to Seyrantepe Hamidiye Etfal Training and Research Hospital, but was pronounced dead on Tuesday at around 4.30pm.
The 36-year-old’s body was transferred to the Council of Forensic Medicine for a post-mortem, though officials have not yet confirmed how he died.
Once the examination was completed, his remains were flown back to Britain.

According to the Turkish Healthcare Travel Council, more than one million foreigners travel to the country every year for hair treatments.
The figure is expected to rise to 1.1 million visitors next year.

Turkish authorities have opened an investigation into the death, treating it as a suspected case of ‘reckless homicide.’
Police are reported to have already questioned clinic staff, including the operating surgeon, anaesthesiologist, and several nurses.
A Foreign Office spokesman said: ‘We are supporting the family of a British man who died in Turkey and remain in contact with local authorities.’
Between 2019 and 2024, at least 28 Britons are believed to have died while travelling to Turkey for various medical procedures.
